Sometimes people have a hard time putting a name to the music they hear, when it comes to ‘Nexx Move’ you guys have an extensive discography, run down the resume a bit to give the readers a taste of your contributions to the world of music.
(Mr. Devine) Well “Nexx Move Inc.” is a production company that I started in 2001. From 2001 to 2010 I produced a slew of records. L.O.X “Keep Hustlin”, Styles P “Get Paid”, “My Brother” Dmx “Don’t Gotta Go Home”, Sheek Louch “D-block Dipset” Jadakiss “Things I’ve Been Through” and many other records achieving a platinum and gold plaque to date. It wasn’t until 2011 that I decided to actually sign other producers to “Nexx Move Inc” to shop beats and co produce records to break new producers. Joe Milly was the first signee.
(Jack Danz) I did a joint with Maino called “Shoot Em UP’ that was produced by Scram Jones, I have a joint called “Get This Money” T.I & Young Jeezy produced by Nick “Fury, I executive produced 2 full length Projects for a rapper named Donny Goines tht featured production from Scram Jones, Streetrunner, Apple Juice Kid, Fury and the late producer Freebass and of course one of my mentors Disco D. I have also work on and placed other tracks and done things behind the scene for alot of major and upcoming artist but I dont really care to divulge those things at this time.
(Joe Milly) My biggest colloborations featured DJ Khaled, Jadakiss, my man Kasual who was signed to We The Best in 09, Shawty Lo, and a bunch of talented up and coming indy rappers. My resume is just getting started and the bulk of my major placements will be surfacing this year into 2013.
How did ‘Nexx Move’ form and what are some of the company’s future goals?
(Mr Devine) Well “Nexx Move Inc.” is a production company that I(Mr. Devine) started in 2001.It wasn’t until 2011 that i decided to actually sign other producers to “Nexx Move Inc” to shop beats and co produce records to break new producers. Joe Milly was the first signee. My goal is to break talented producers who don’t have the necessary means or industry know how to get to the the artist to showcase their beats. Simply put I’m using my music industry connects to showcase the producers that are signed to Nexx Move Inc.
(Jack Danz) Along with Devine just finding dope artist in general producers, songwriters, instrumentalists etc and trying to bridge the gap. I was brought in because of my relationships and ability to forge relationships with people that can be beneficial to us as a unit. Our goals of course would be to get more records sold and work with talented artist. All the rewards of that comes eventually after the work is done.
How did Joe Milly join the team? What was it about his material that caught your attention?
(Mr Devine) I got a call from a good friend by the name of Dj Xxxotic mami who had heard Joe Milly’s beats and suggested I take a listen. I took a listen and thought his production was on point and ready to be shopped to Major artist, and his beats only needed minimal tweaking. He understood the improvements that he need for his tracks and was willing to take advice, so I offered to sign him as the first producer at Nexx Move Inc.
Joe Milly since the Jadakiss placement what else have you been working on? What can we expect from you in the near future?
The Jadakiss placement definitely caught the attention of a lot of artists signed and unsigned. Currently, Devine & I are working on the new Wu-Tang/D-Block collaborative and a a bunch of new projects to be announced. Expect nothing but hard hitting bangers in the near future. Being that I’m only 22 years old, lord knows what could happen.
Jack, from a hook writers perspective, how do you like to approach each project? Is it about the melody, the chemistry, the concept? School the readers.
(Mr Devine) Well usually I have alot of stuff prepared just from my personal stuff that I think of and come up with that doesnt have any particular artist or project in mind. Then I hear joints from the artist that we are working with or will be working with and see where their head is musically and try to make it happen from there. Im a pretty quick thinker in the studio so working in person is one of my joys as well. As far as my writing approach or process there is no one true way that I do it.. there are some constants though I usually always write while driving or listenting to much loud in the shower. My point is everyone has there own lil nuences and ways that they create so I would just encourage readers to do whatever makes them feel most comfortable.
Devine, looking forward into the growth of ‘Nexx Move’ where do you see the brand in years to come?
(Mr Devine) I’m hoping to have a many producers signed to Nexx Move in the future, I’m kind of following the path of Diddy, he had the Hitman production team which was made up of many talented producers and all of them had their own identity. So hopefully years to come I’ll have a strong production team made up of many talented producers and controlling radio hopefully.
What are some of the projects you guys are working on collectively as a team and when can we expect to hear new music?
(Mr Devine) Well Joe Milly’s keeping very busy, we’re producing records for a lot of queens up and coming talent like “Young Bruno” who is super producer Cory Rooneys nephew, “Young Pretty” another talented queens rapper. Topadaline (TL), Oxlgang, Lexx nine eleven.and others. We have a record on the Wu-Block album, Sheek Louch’s next project possibly the L.O.X and a few other things brewing. We working!
(Joe Milly) I just gave a couple of joints to D Chamberz, and I gotta link up with a few artist soon Maino, Push! Montana, Twigg Martin the whole Mafia click, Frenchie and Yung Joey from Brick Squad, working very closely with DJ Superstar J on some of his projects one of them which is gonna change the game mark my words… Just working with the usual suspects that we have always worked with as well as new ones that we are just coming more in contact with.

Any advice for the young producers and writers out there?
(Mr Devine) Just keep grinding and find a way to get heard. There are so many outlets that I didn’t have when I first started producing so take advantage of the Internet and remain humble because that will get you very far in this industry.
(Jack Danz) I guess if your actually reading this article that a good first step, just believe in your self and that it can happen to you. It just takes a couple of move to turn from a nobody to a somebody and with all the tools and avenues out now espcially sites like iStandard all you really have to do is do what you love to do, BETTER than the best of your ablity. My number one thing I would say is something that I always let come in one ear and out the other and for some reason people always want to talk about last is knowing your business and handling it accordingly. This is the music BUSINESS so matter how much people say there your friend, or how many events they invite you to and people they introduce you to and all that good stuff at the end of the day very rarely do people in this indsutry make decision that is best for them and for the goodness of the people that are affialted with them, they make decisions that are BEST FOR THEM so you have to do whats BEST FOR YOU which is educate yourself on the business have a team of people you trust around you to help you handle your business and just try to do things the right way and treat people accordingly. I can talk about do and do nots all week but for the most part that is what I will advise for now.
(Joe Milly) Try and discover your niche as a producer rather than copying what is current. Genres and trends change annually so one year you can be the reason for the change in a certain genre. Stay innovative, patient and take advantage of every opportunity that arises. Goals don’t get accomplished over night.
Any last shouts?
